will be responsible to make the church visible in the community and beyond.
First Steps in the Christian Life
This team
will be responsible to help visitors, seekers, and members in their first steps
in the Christian Life.
Visitors Contact
This team
will be responsible to contact first time visitors and thank them for the visit
and invite them to comeback. They also will be responsible for the visitor’s
package.
New Members Class
Facilitate
a class for new members and help them to become integrated into the life of the
church
Confirmation
This team
with the pastor will be responsible to implement the confirmation class.
Sounds on Sixes
This team
will organize one or more event in our property to reach out our community.
Nurturing
Disciples
This team is responsible for the spiritual growth of the
church
Christian Education
Assist
those in our church family to attain a mature Christian Faith that is
life-changing, shapes our commitments, obligations, and applies Scripture to
everyday life.
Subcommittees:
Children Education – To nurture, love,
and teach the children of our congregation so they may know the Bible and the
principles of Christian living. Coordinates the children’s Sunday School, VBS,
and childcare volunteers (nursery).
Adult Education – It is responsible for
Adult Sunday School classes, Midweek Bible Study, curriculum and special
events.
Youth Group – Provides opportunities
for youth (6th – 12th grade) to experience a supportive
Christian community wherein they can establish a committed relationship with
Jesus Christ. Organize and maintain special programs such as Car Wash,
Caroling, Youth Sunday, Mission Trip, etc.
Seminars – They will coordinate special
events for the church.
Small Groups
Assists,
enables and facilitates the creation and maintenance of small groups of 6-12
persons with similar interests to coming together for fellowship and Bible
study.
PW
PW offers
monthly Bible studies. It also sponsors a Women’s Retreat, Sweet Ladies, and
Book Club
Men’s Group
Men’s group
offers a monthly meeting for fellowship and Bible study.
Stewardship
This team
is responsible for the stewardship campaign in the Fall as well as education
the congregation in our Christian call to stewardship.
Leadership Training
This team
will create and oversee the training of new elders, and other leaders of the
church. It also will publicize opportunity events for training.
Congregational Care
Nurtures
our congregation during both difficult times and joyous celebrations. Providing
communication, fellowship, and a caring ministry.
Manna – A midweek program for our families and friends.
Stephen Ministry – Trained caregivers providing one-on-one caring
relationships for members in crises.
Prayer Chain – Create and mobilize a prayer chain involving the
whole church.
Prayer Team – This team will be trained to pray for others after
our services and programs.
Phone Calls, Cards, and emails – Send cards, emails, and make phone
calls to visitors and members for different occasions.
Visit – visit people that would like that kind of contact.
Newsletter/E-Newsletter – Keep the church informed about her
ministry, mission, and events.
Celebrating
God with the Disciples
This team will work closely with the
Pastor/Director of Music/Church Organist to coordinate all aspects of the
worship service including special events (Advent, Easter, & Pentecost) and
all musical programming.
Music
This team
with the pastor, music director and pianist, will develop the music program of
the church.
Choir
This team
help the music director and pianist to organize and lead the choir, this
includes, robes, chairs, binders, and other things that would alleviate the
music director and the pianist to perform better their duties.
Band
This team
will work with the pastor and music director in the contemporary service.
Acolytes
This team,
will enlist, train, and schedule the children who will participate in the
service as acolyte.
Children at Worship
This team will
with the pastor and music director help the children to be involved in the
service. They also will alternate with the pastor in the children’s moment.
Contemporary
This team
will with the pastor and music director help to organize the contemporary service.
Baptism
This team
will with the pastor and music director help in the preparation of the parents
and adults for the baptism.
Communion
This team
will prepare the communion table, bread, and grape juice, for communion.
Ushering
This team
will help set the tone in preparation
for the worship service, as well as assist with the smooth operation within the
service.
Greeting
This team
will welcome and assist first time visitors; they also with greet and serve the
regular attendees and members.
Liturgists
This team,
presently formed by the elders serving in the session, will with the pastor
lead the congregation in worship.
Sound System
This team
will setup and control, turn off, and putt away the sound system.
Sanctuary Setting up, Decoration Guild/Flowers
This team
will responsible for the setup and the decoration of the Sanctuary.
Recording and Streamline the Service
This team
will responsible for recording and streamline of the service.
Wedding
This team
with the pastor and the music director will be responsible for the guidelines
and applications for the wedding. It will also responsible to open and close
the church, and to enforce the guidelines during the ceremony.
Funeral
This team
with the pastor will be responsible for the guidelines for funeral, and to help
to prepare the Sanctuary, organize meals, and help to inform the church.
Easter
This team
with the pastor and the music director will help in the aspects relate to the
service, such as decoration, liturgical colors, banners, and Cross, etc. It
also will work with the Marketing team on the best way to advertise the
Service.
Advent/Christmas
This team
with the pastor and the music director will help in the aspects relate to the
season, such as decoration, liturgical colors, banners, candles, special
events, etc. It also will work with the Marketing team on the best way to
advertise the Services.
Nametags
This team
will be responsible to make the nametags, keep them updated and in order to be
used in our events. They also will help the greeters to provide nametags for
visitors.
Pew Folders
This team
will be responsible for the information folders in our chairs. They will keep
those folders updated and in good order.
Special Events
This team
with the pastor will be responsible for special events connected with outreach
programs that will happen once a month. They will help with organization and
help to connect all the groups that should be part of the event, such as Music,
Drama Team, Puppets, etc.
Sending
the Disciples
This team will
be responsible for the Missional aspect of the church, reaching out with our
service and witness local, national, and global.
Witness
This team
provides Missional training for the congregation; it is responsible for the
service mission opportunities for young and adult of our congregation; and it
also oversees the sponsoring of mission programs, local, national, and global.
Service
This team
will search, organize and advertise opportunities for service in our area.
Individual Mission
This team
will help individuals to find channels where they can get involved personally
in mission.
Local Mission
This team
will connect our church with local missions and organize groups to help and
promote special campaigns to support those organizations.
National Mission
This team
will create opportunities for the church to serve and to support National
missions.
Global Mission
This team
will create opportunities and connections for the church to be involved in
global mission, such as mission trips, fundraiser, etc.
The Missional Church
This team
will be responsible to educate the church about the Missional church, so we all
can be active participants with Christ in the mission field.
Youth Group Mission Trip
This team
with the C.E. and other groups, will organize, and oversee the youth group
mission trip, providing chaperones and funds for it.
Men’s Group
The men’s
group will decide for their own agenda on mission projects, they will seek the
partnership with other groups so the mission could be more productive. Among
those missions are, Breakfast at Must, Habitat for Humanity, etc.
PW
The
PW group will decide for their own agenda on mission projects, they will seek
the partnership with other groups so the mission could be more productive.
Among those missions are, Rummage Sale, Bake Sale, etc
Support Team
The support
Team will be responsible for the support of the other teams so church could be
able to fulfill her call.
Building and Grounds
This team
will maintain all aspects of the church building and equipment. Includes
painting, cleaning, maintenance and inspection. It also includes, Kitchen,
interiors, and building use. This committee must approve all outside requests
for use of our facilities.
Personnel
This team
is responsible for the church staff, including job descriptions, personnel
policy manual, pays scale, and addition of new staff members. It also
coordinates volunteer assistance for the church office.
Communications
Encourage
and facilitate communication among the committees and ministries within the
church, educate members, visitors and our community about activities and
opportunities for participation in the life of Sixes P. C., promote an
invitational and welcoming community of faith.
Technology
This team
is responsible for the church computer network, web site and the office
electronic equipment.
Finance
This team
is responsible for development of policies and guidelines for dealing with
financial matters related to the church. Reviews monthly financial statements,
monitors various committees’ expenses, and resolves emerging financial issues.
Church Officers - Nominating Committee
Annually
develops and presents a slate of officers for approval by vote of the
congregation; and fulfills other nominating assignments as directed by the
Session.
